Secure computing from Saxony-Anhalt

junio 16, 2010

After four years of construction, T-Systems’ new data center will be around 24,000 square meters in size. That’s about the size of five soccer fields.
The state of Saxony-Anhalt is supporting the largest high-security data center of any IT service provider in Germany with a subsidy in the double-digit million euro range. Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Dr. Reiner Haseloff, expressed his delight with the project, “This represents a further boost to the local IT sector, which is already growing strongly.” He added that by supporting the project, his state was investing in future technology offering good, long-term job perspectives. Around 70 new jobs will be created near Magdeburg when the first building sections are connected to the network in 2012. These employees will be managing 9,000 square feet of IT space.
